YARN: Light (3) in Blue, Light Gray; Cotton Thread in Black

MATERIALS: C2 – 2.75 mm Hook; Poly Filling

DIMENSION: (sitting position) H. 5” x W. 7”

ABBREVIATIONS: magic ring (mr), stitch (st), slip stitch (sl st), single crochet (sc), spike stitch single crochet (SPsc), back loop only (BLO), front loop only, (FLO), fasten off (F/O)

INSTRUCTIONS: work in rounds (join with a sl st and ch 1 at the end of each round) unless otherwise instructed.

ARMS (blue and gray yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: starting off with gray yarn, 8 sc in a mr (8)

Rnd 2 – 5: sc even (8)

F/O and cut the yarn. Stuff the arms lightly.

Rnd 27: working with blue yarn only, 12 sc, keep crocheting on the head part, inserting the hook into the 1st sc of the last round of the head, 1 sc into the same st, then work 17 sc, (leave the gray section unworked), now go back to the body and insert the hook into the very 1st st after the gray section of the body, work 1 sc into the same st, then work 10 sc (41)

EARS (blue yarn; make two)

Do not stuff the ears, flatten them instead before sewing them to the top of the head.

Embroider the INNER EARS with gray yarn.

Embroider the NOSE with black cotton thread.

Embroider the EYES (between rnds # 12-16) with black cotton thread and gray yarn.

Embroider the vertical MARKS on the back and head of the wolf with gray yarn.

LEGS (blue and gray yarn; make two)

Rnd 1: starting off with gray yarn, 9 sc in a mr (9)

Rnd 2 – 6: sc even (9)

Rnd 7: switch to blue yarn, sc even (9)

Rnd 8 – 13: sc even (9)

Rnd 14: 7 sc, 1 sc dec (8); stuff the leg lightly

Rnd 15: 3 sc, 1 sc dec, 3 sc (7)

Rnd 16: flatten the leg and crochet through both layers now, 3 sc and 1 sl st (4)

F/O and leave a long strand of yarn to sew the legs to the FLO of the rnd #7 of the body.

TAIL (blue and gray yarn)

The spike stitch is worked using the same steps as a single crochet stitch, but instead of working into the current row where you are crocheting, you drop down and work it into a row below that current row.
