Difficulty: intermediate
Crochet hook: 2.5 mm
Height: 15 cm.
Materials: Tapestry needle & black yarn, 2 safety eyes (7 mm), teddy bear stuffing.
Yarn: Rainbow Cotton 8/4 Melange,
Rainbow Cotton 8/4.
Light Grey Melange (01) – 1 skein
Pastel Pink Melange (18) – 1 skein
Black (009) – 1 skein

Head
Using Light Grey Melange (01)
R1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
R2: (sc2in1) 6x [12]
R3: (1 sc, sc2in1) 6x [18]
R4: (2 sc, sc2in1) 6x [24]
R5: (3 sc, sc2in1) 6x [30]
R6: (4 sc, sc2in1) 6x [36]
R7: (5 sc, sc2in1) 6x [42]
R8-14: 1 sc in every st {7 rounds} [42]
Place the eyes between rows 10 and 11 with 7 sts in between them.
R15: (5 sc, sc2tog) 6x [36]
Fill with stuffing as you go.
R16: (4 sc, sc2tog 6x [30]
R17: (3 sc, sc2tog) 6x [24]
R18: (2 sc, sc2tog) 6x [18]
Cut yarn with a long tail to sew the head on to the body and bind off.
Body
Using Light Grey Melange (01) and Pastel Pink Melange (18):
Begin with Light Grey Melange
R1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
R2: (sc2in1) 6x [12]
R3: (1 sc, sc2in1) 6x [18]
R4-6: 1 sc in every st {3 rounds} [18]
Switch to Pastel Pink Melange:
R7: 1 sc in every st [18]
R8: (2 sc, sc2in1) 6x [24]
R9-10: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [24]
Cut yarn and bind off. Make another leg in the same manner, but do not cut yarn or bind off and continue working.
Work the legs together like so:
R11: 1 sl st and 1 sc in the last st of the first leg, 23 sc, 24 sc around the other leg [48]
R12-14: 1 sc in every st {3 rounds} [48]
R15: (6 sc, sc2tog) 6x [42]
R16-17: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [42]
R18: (5 sc, sc2tog) 6x [36]
R19-20: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [36]
R21: (4 sc, sc2tog) 6x [30]
R22-23: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [30]

Stuff the legs well and the body a bit less.
R25-27: 1 sc in every st {3 rounds} [24]
R28: (2 sc, sc2tog) 6x [18]
R29-30: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [18]
Bind off and stuff the body. Sew the head on to the body.
Snout
Using Light Grey Melange (01)
R1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
R2: (1 sc, sc2in1) 3x [9]
R3: (2 sc, sc2in1) 3x [12]
R4: (3 sc, sc2in1) 3x [15]
R5: 1 sc in every st [15]
Cut yarn with a long tail to sew the snout on to the head and bind off. Place a bit of stuffing in the snout and sew it into the head between the eyes, so that the top is at R11. Use small stitches as you sew.
Nose
Using Rainbow Cotton 8/4 – Black (009)
R1: Ch 4. Begin in the second st from the hook and make 3 sc, turn. [3]
R2: 1 sc in every st, turn.
R3: 1 sc in every st [3]
Cut yarn with a tail to sew it on to the snout and bind off. See picture.
Place the nose on the snout and sew it on. Or embroider a nose with a few black stitches.
Embroider a mouth as seen in the picture above.
Ears (make 2)
Using Light Grey Melange (01)
R1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
R2: (2 sc, sc2in1) 2x [8]
R3: (3 sc, sc2in1) 2x [10]
R4: (4 sc, sc2in1) 2x [12]
R5-6: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [12]
Cut yarn with a long tail to sew the ears on to the head and bind off. Place the ears on the head at R4 at an angle to R7. See picture above.
Arm (make 2)
Using Light Grey Melange (01) and Pastel Pink Melange (18):
Begin with Light Grey Melange:
R1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
R2: (sc2in1) 6x [12]
R3-6: 1 sc in every st {4 rounds} [12]
Switch to Pastel Pink Melange:
R7: 1 sc in every st [12]
R8: (2 sc, sc2tog) 3x [9]
Stuff the hand and the arm until R14. Stop stuffing here.
R9-18: 1 sc in every st {10 rounds} [9]
R19: (1 sc, sc2tog) 3x [6]
Cut the yarn, bind off and thread the tail end through the front loops of R19. Tighten and fasten. Make another arm in the same manner. Sew the arms to R29 of the body.
Tail
Using Light Grey Melange (01)
R1: 4 sc in a MR [4]
R2: (1 sc, sc2in1) 2x [6]
R3: (1 sc, sc2in1) 3x [9]
R4: (2 sc, sc2in1) 3x [12]
R5-6: 1 sc in every st {2 rounds} [12]
R7: (1 sc, sc2in1) 6x [18]

Stuff the tail and continue until R18.

Cut the yarn with a long tail end and bind off. Sew the tail on to the body with the tail end at R12 and R13 of the body.
Buttons, strap
Using Pastel Pink Melange (18)
R1: Ch 36, then starting from the second st from the needle, sc in every st. [35]
Bind off and sew onto the body. Fasten one end at the beginning of the legs at the body, then under the chin, loop it around the neck and fasten the other end at the chin. Sew the strap on with small stitches.
Buttons
Using Pastel Pink Melange (18) (make 3)
R1: 6 sc in a MR [6]
Cut yarn and bind off. Sew on to the strap, as pictured above.
I have sewn Rose’s legs together with small stitches because I like the look, but it is up to you.
